Oleaq, therefore, sets out to create a new kind of wine community.

One that is dedicated to democratising the wine industry by creating spaces for connection to deepen our passion for sustainably produced wine. A community that is dedicated to living a more values’ driven lifestyle. Our mission is to bridge the gap between wine enthusiasts and their favorite industry professionals through storytelling, curating events and experiences whilst providing knowledge on sustainable wine.

Meet Oleaq Wines Founder, Ndapewa Shooya

Ndapewa founded Oleaq Wines in 2022 to bring her decades of conservation and climate change work into the wine industry, advocating for social justice by working with underrepresented wineries, winemakers and individuals who value sustainability.

Ndapewa’s career has been marked by her collaboration with both international grassroots organization and local entities. In recognition of her contributions, Ndapewa is a Women for the Environment Africa (WE Africa) 2024 Fellow and in 2017, was honoured with the “Supporting Climate Change Leaders” grant by the International Development and Research Centre.

We believe in making the wine industry less intimidating and more accessible. Wine opens the door to new cultures, and experiences, and can create unimaginable opportunities. By bridging the gap, by telling the stories and by sharing knowledge, we are making the wine industry more accessible to wine lovers across the world.
